In 2007, Patterson Baseball Complex and Coach Steve Hertz Field presented by Washington Trust returned baseball to the GU campus after four years at Avista Stadium in Spokane. The natural grass field has dimensions of 328 at the foul lines, 370 at both left center and right center, and 398 in straightaway center field. The stadium holds 1,500 Gonzaga fans and includes a home club house with locker room, lounge, training room and laundry facility as well as visiting team and official’s locker rooms. Patterson Baseball Complex updated its video board in 2018 and the new screen is an all-encompassing stat panel, scoreboard and videoboard that measures 36 feet wide and 12 feet high. In 2023, artificial turf was installed to enhance the baseball experience. In the same project, padding was added all around the playing surface for player safety and construction was completed on the 12 foot outfield wall.
