Track and Field/Lacrosse Stadium

The University of Montevallo’s Track and Field/Lacrosse Stadium is a state of the art complex that is amongst the best in NCAA Division II athletics.  It is home to the Montevallo men’s and women’s lacrosse teams and men’s and women’s track and field.

The playing field is a Bermuda grass surface and is surrounded by a 400 meter track. The facility includes a water pit for steeplechase events and a separate throwing area for shotput and javelin competitions as well as high jump, long jump and pole vault areas.
The facility neighbors Kermit A. Johnson field at Bob Riesener Stadium and the UM Cross Country Course.

Located off of Shelby Street, the facility first opened in the spring of 2016.  Montevallo held its first competition at the stadium on February 5, 2016 when the women’s lacrosse team beat Point University 12-8 in the program’s inaugural game. The Falcon victory was a historic milestone in the state of Alabama as well, as it marked the first NCAA Division II lacrosse game to ever be played in the state.

The facility is home to the annual Falcon Classic and was the host site of the 2017 Peach Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships.  The stadium is also the future host of the 2021 GSC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
