Alumni Field underwent a major upgrade and unveiled the addition of a lighting system, new field surface, and warning tracks in 2004. The $350,000 renovation included a new lighting system that features eight poles surrounding the stadium, as well as a brand new playing surface and warning track around the entire field. Alumni Field features the Musco lighting system, considered one of the best lighting systems for sports complexes. The Duraturf Service Corporation out of Richmond, Va., also redesigned the Retrievers’ playing field and added a warning track around the inside of the entire ball park. The press box and dugout facilities have also been upgraded since the inauguration of the newly renamed field as well as the addition of permanent seating bleachers.
