Panther Field

32 North River St.
Holderness, NH 03245
(603) 535-2770

Plymouth State’s first turf field was ready for the Spring of 2021. Located adjacent to ALLWell North between the PE Center and Parish Field, Panther Field is the home to Plymouth State football, field hockey and men’s and women’s lacrosse, while also providing a turf option for the men’s and women’s soccer teams.

The turf is constructed of FieldTurf Vertex Prime product, comprised of specially designed slit-film fibers and high-performance ridged monofilament fibers. The fibrillation process allows for proper infill encapsulation while facilitating a grass-like ball roll. Both fibers are tufted together in the same stitch for a superior aesthetic appearance.

The infill system is composed of cryogenic rubber, the cleanest, highest grade of rubber granule. Ground-up, recycled tires are cryogenically frozen, then shattered into small, smooth-edged particles. This shape facilitates a consistent flow of water through the infill without raising and displacing any rubber, while allowing rubber and sand to remain in suspension in a layered system.

A full set of wheelchair-accessible bleachers with a seating capacity of 1,200 is on the east side of the field, complete with a three-room press box with a filming deck. A MuscoVision automated sports broadcasting camera helps bring game action to fans who can’t attend games in person, while the sound system features the QSC PLD series system consisting of three powerful, four-channel amplifiers, each with onboard, advanced DSP, connected to R.5-96MAX two-way, full-range loudspeakers.

The field is surrounded by a Musco Lighting system consisting of LED lights in a four-pole arrangement consistent with all NCAA lighting requirements. Controls allow for dimming and multiple lighting schemes and is expandable for the future grandstand construction on the west side of the field.
