Facilities Alderson Broaddus University Athletics

Multi-Sport Performance Stadium

Built in 2012, the 2,500 seat stadium is used competitively for football, men’s and women’s soccer,

men’s and women’s lacrosse, sprint football, and it is also a practice facility for rugby. The artificial turf

surface allows for play in all seasons and weather, and the lights provide a great atmosphere for night

games. The facility also contains individual locker rooms for all sports that call it home, as well as an

athletic training room. The facility contains a President’s box and VIP Box for the sports above and

provides a pavilion that is housed at the entrance of the stadium.

Rex Pyles Arena

The historic building is home to Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Acrobatics and Tumbling, Wrestling,

Men’s and Women’s Volleyball, and Swimming. The building also houses locker rooms, coaches’ offices,

the main athletic training room, a weight room, the pool, an auxiliary gym (used as the wrestling and

acrobatics and tumbling practice facility) and a dance studio.

Jack Funk Field

The Battlers play at Jack Funk Field, named after Alderson Broaddus Baseball Legend, Jack Funk. Funk

was a 1956 graduate of AB and a 1995 Hall of Famer as both a player and coach. Jack Funk Field’s

natural grass surface has been resurfaced two years ago, and also features lights and a brand-new

scoreboard.

North Philippi City Park

The Battlers play at North Philippi City Park, which has received major upgrades in the past year. AB’s

field features a new, natural grass playing surface, as well as a new press box and other new facility

improvements. The field also has lights, so games can be played both day and night.

Alderson Broaddus Grass Rugby Field

The Battlers play their home matches on a dedicated grass rugby field on the campus of Alderson

Broaddus. Practices are split between their dedicated field and the artificial turf of the Multisport

Performance Stadium.
