Peter Kohn Field

Peter Kohn Field is a state-of-the-art field hockey and lacrosse facility that opened in the spring of 2000. The field was named in honor of the late Peter Kohn, a friend of Middlebury College since he arrived on campus in 1980.

The 240' by 360' AstroTurf System was installed in the summer of 2022. The Poligras Platinum is a short-pile tufted field with polyethylene fibers, offering student-athletes a soft, non-abrasive surface. The fibers are also water-resistant — an essential feature for ensuring practices and games can go on in all weather conditions. The renovation also included a new state-of-the-art watering system, creating optimal conditions for field hockey.

Lights were added to the facility in 2011, allowing for less missed class time with evening practices and occasional night games. The field was resurfaced during that project before being replaced again in 2022.
